Operation Gaida update. Police name girl who died following collision in Basingstoke

Police have named the 14-year-old girl who died 12 days after being in collision with a car on London Road, Basingstoke as Louise Eames.

Louise, from Popley, was walking to Costello School of Technology, where she was a pupil, on February 9 when she was involved in a collision with a Volkswagen Passat.

She sustained multiple fractures and serious head injuries and was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxfordshire by Surrey Air Ambulance.

She died yesterday evening (Feb21) with her family at her side.
