Police are now in a position to confirm the identity of a 19-year-old man who died in a collision on Lepe Road near Blackfield and Langley on December 10.

Timothy Othniel Arshad, from Blackfield, (pictured below right with his parents) was pronounced dead at the scene of the single-vehicle crash shortly after 6.42am

Timothy’s parents Malik and Mia Arshad have asked that the following tribute be issued to the media:

“Timothy (Tim) Othniel Arshad, aged 19 years, whose life was tragically taken in a road traffic accident on December 10, 2011.

A very dear, loving, young man, a son, brother, grandson and uncle.

He was doing so very well at Brockenhurst College, had a bright future, aspired to join the Royal Engineers. He loved sailing the sea with Venturers Search and Rescue at Lepe Beach.

Family and friends are devastated by his death. He will be sorely missed by all his family and those who love him.

Words can’t express our grief. He is engraved on our hearts forever and now in the loving arms of Jesus.

Please respect the family’s privacy as they mourn their dearly beloved Tim.”

Malik and Mia Arshad, and Tim’s siblings.
