Police have named the 19-year-old pedestrian who died following a hit and run on the A287 between Crondall near Odiham on Sunday.

Jack Bland from London Road, Odiham was found at the side of the unlit road by a passer-by. He died later at North Hampshire Hospital, Basingstoke

It’s believed he was struck during heavy rain by a car travelling to Odiham between 2.30am and 3.30am. The car continued without stopping.

In a statement, his family said: “Jack's tragic, untimely death has left a huge void in our lives deeply affected our family. “Jack was a bright, intelligent young man who had a natural zest for life.  He was known as a bit of a ‘Jack the lad’ among his many friends for his larger than life character and fun-loving antics.

“Jack was a loving son and brother who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.”

Police are still appealing to anyone who has any information in relation to this incident to come forward.
