Police have released two men they were questioning in relation to the death of 19-year-old Jack Bland in an apparent hit-and-run on Sunday.

The men, a 19-year-old from Alton and a 19-year-old from Hook were arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and were questioned yesterday. They were released on bail yesterday afternoon until December 14, 2011 pending further investigation.

Jack Bland died at North Hampshire Hospital in Basingstoke after a passer-by found him. It’s believed he was struck by a vehicle as he walked along the A287 between Crondall and the start of the Odiham bypass during heavy rain, between 2.30am and 3.30am on Sunday.

Police are still appealing to anyone who has any information in relation to this incident to come forward.
