Op Firefly – Appeal for witnesses following fatal collision in Fareham

Police are appealing for information following a fatal collision on Stubbington Lane, Fareham today.

The crash, close to Crofton Community Association, happened shortly after 11.30am and involved a car and a moped.

The driver of the car, a man in his 70s from Fareham, lost consciousness at the scene and was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital where he has since died.

The rider of the moped, a 42-year-old Fareham woman sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

The road from Stubbington Green to Bells Lane was closed for three hours while collision investigators examined the scene and the two vehicles were recovered. Diversions were in place from Eric Road and Gosport Road but were lifted shortly before 3pm when the road was reopened.
