Op Acton – man in critical condition following crash at Whiteley car park

A man is in a critical condition at Southampton General Hospital following a crash involving a motorcycle at a multi-storey car park in Whiteley.

The incident happened shortly after 6pm on Saturday [December 17] at Specsavers head office car park in Parkway when, for reasons yet to be established, the motorcyclist lost control of his green Suzuki bike and crashed into a concrete wall.

The 20-year-old from Warsash sustained serious head injuries and fractures to his legs and wrists.

He was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital in a life threatening condition, before being transferred to SGH were his condition is described as critical.

Southern Crimestoppers Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision, or anyone who may have seen the motorcyclist leading up to the crash, to contact Sgt Wayne Voller at Fratton Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting Operation Acton.
