Motorists advised to avoid the A303 eastbound following a serious crash
Motorists are being advised to avoid the A303 eastbound following a serious crash.
Police received reports that an MG car rolled and left the carriageway at about 4.40 this afternoon.
The female driver was taken to Southampton General Hospital with serious injuries by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.
The road immediately surrounding the scene was closed to allow the air ambulance to land.
Officers are currently in the process of closing the A303 eastbound to all traffic to allow a full investigation to take place.
Closures will be set up at the Parkhouse crossroads with the A338, the Thruxton racetrack eastbound entry sliproad, Thruxton village and the Sarsons Lane junction.
It is not currently known when the road will re-open.
