Motorists advised to avoid Bursledon Road in Southampton after fatal road crash
Motorists are being advised to avoid the Burseldon Road area of Southampton following a fatal road crash.
Police received reports that a Vauxhall Vectra car was in collision with an elderly woman shortly before 2.30 this afternoon.
The collision occurred on Burseldon Road opposite The Range shop and KFC.
The woman subsequently died as a result of the collision.
Bursledon Road is currently closed at both ends while officers from the Road Death Investigation Team carry out a full investigation.
It is not currently known when the road will re-open.
