Published: 05/09/2011

Detectives in Aldershot are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Farnborough on Friday, August 26.

The incident occurred shortly after 12.30pm in Sherborne Road, Farnborough as an 80-year-old man left his work in a white Corsa van.

As he drove along Sherborne Road he was forced to stop as a red Ford KA pulled out suddenly in front of him from a side road. He then continued along the road, following the Ford KA, stopping at the Queen’s Road junction.

When he stopped, a man smashed the driver’s window and forced the 80-year-old man to get of the van before driving off along Queen’s Road.

The man is described as:

  • White
  • Aged between 35 to 40 years
  • Well built man
  • Approx 6ft
  • With darkish hair that was cut short
  • Wearing blue denim jeans and a blue denim jacket.

It is believed that a second man was stood with the man who stole the van shortly before the incident but the victim has not been able to describe him.

The white Corsa van was recovered later that afternoon.

Detectives are keen to speak to anyone with information, particularly about the red Ford KA seen stopping suddenly in front of the van before the incidentoccurred.
