Man jailed for two years after Operation Phoenix drugs raid in Southampton
Press Releases
Published:
17/11/2008
A man has been jailed for two years for supplying drugs after being arrested earlier this year as part of an Operation Phoenix raid in Southampton.
Gary Wyeth, 33, from Kingsclere Avenue, Southampton was arrested during a series of raids on August 12 this year in the St Marys and Weston areas of the city.
Wyeth was charged with supplying crack cocaine and heroin and was convicted on Friday, 14 November.
Detective Inspector Simon Baker from Southampton’s Drug Investigation Team said: “This latest conviction shows that Operation Phoenix continues to be very successful in tracking down drug dealers in our city and removing class ‘A’ drugs from the streets.
“You can be sure we will be carrying out further raids and making more arrests. I would like to make it clear to anyone supplying drugs in our city that we will come knocking on your door and that you can expect to get arrested and charged.”
