Police are appealing for witnesses after a 40-year-old man from Switzerland was robbed as he walked along an alleyway between two roads.

Two men approached him as he went down an alley to go from Milton Road to Archers Road sometime between 7pm and 7.45pm on Sunday, November 30.

One of the men had some sort of white mask on. They punched the man in the face and he fell to the ground. He was then hit him in the face with a beer can breaking his nose.

They took his wallet from him which contained some bank cards, £220 and around £50 in Euros and Swiss Francs. They then made off across Hill Lane and then down Howard Road.

The victim was treated for his broken nose and has since flown home to Switzerland very shaken by his experience. The first robber is described as white, around 5ft 11 inches tall, slim build, wearing a white zip up fleece and a white hooded mask.  The other robber was wearing a black jacket.

Officers are now asking for anyone who saw the men or thinks they know who carried out the attack to contact them.
