A man has died following a fire at his home, yesterday evening (Tuesday, March 10).
Police were called at 10.45pm to the address in Sutherland Road, Southsea by Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service. The fire service had been alerted by a neighbour who heard a smoke alarm.
A 93-year-old man was found dead inside the house.
Investigations are ongoing to establish the cause of the fire, however the incident is not being treated as suspicious.
