Man charged after attempted armed robbery in Portsmouth

A man has been charged following an attempted armed robbery in Portsmouth on Saturday, April 18.

Around midday, a man walked into a toy shop on London Road and demanded money from the woman behind the counter.

When the woman refused, the man repeated his demand and produced what appeared to be a hand gun.

After he was challenged by the shop owner, he made off.

 27-year-old Lee Trevor Knight of Twyford Avenue, North End will appear before Magistrates on Monday April 20. He was charged with possessing a firearm, attempted robbery and possession of a knife in a public place.
