Long delays on M3 following two-car crash
Motorists are being advised to avoid the M3 southbound near junction 9 for Winnall following a two-car collision this afternoon. (June 17)
Police received reports that a Mercedes and a Ford Focus had collided at about 1pm.
All emergency services attended the scene. Both drivers were treated by paramedics and taken to hospital.
All lanes of the motorway are currently closed to allow the cars to be recovered.
Traffic is being diverted off the motorway at junction 9 and then up over the roundabout and back on at junction 9.
It is hoped all lanes should be re-opened by 3pm.
