Police are appealing for information after a burglary at a property in Emsworth Road, Portsmouth.
Between 3.30pm and 8.30pm on Monday, February 15, offenders forced entry by removing part of the UVPC door.
Once inside they stole a blue Acer laptop and a black Toshiba laptop, a pair of Rayban prescription sunglasses, a 22inch Toshiba television, a Phillips portable DVD player, a Phillips shaver, a 16GB iPod Touch (with a name engraved on the back), two wallets, a black Samsonite holdall, and a large whisky bottle, which was used to collect coins.
PC Allison Fraser said, “The family involved had been moving house and have been very distressed by this incident. The timeframe in which this took place is very narrow, and the method of entry used is unusual, and we are appealing for anyone who may have heard or seen anything to contact us.
“We often find that, speaking to local people following an incident, they saw something strange or suspicious, but did not think it was relevant, or did not want to bother the police. Even the smallest detail could be important, so we would like to hear from anyone who thinks something happened that we should know about.
“I would also advise people not to buy goods that they suspect could be stolen, but phone the police and inform us where and when the items are being sold, and by whom. We may then be able to seize the goods, arrest those handling the property and return the items to their rightful owners.”
