Police are appealing for witnesses or those with information to come forward after a burglary at a flat in Victoria Road North, Southsea.
Between 6pm on Thursday, February 18 and 6pm on Friday, February 19, the flat was entered and an untidy search was made.
Offenders made off with a Dell laptop computer, a gold necklace, an eternity ring with three diamonds, a gold ring with a single pearl on it, a gold bangle or cuff, which has gold knots at either end, a gold locket and a Sekonda ladies watch with an oval shaped pink and white face.
Detective Constable Les Leithes said, “This has been very upsetting for the occupant of the flat, who came home to find her belongings strewn around her bedroom, including her baby’s cot. She is particularly distressed to lose jewellery which had a great sentimental value, and some wedding photographs.
“I would advise residents of multi occupancy buildings to ensure that communal doors leading onto the street are closed and secure after you pass through them, and not left open.
“Some of the jewellery taken during this incident is quite distinctive, and I would urge anyone who sees these items, or has any information relating to the burglary, to contact me.”
