Do you want to make a special contribution to your community and have a spare 4 hours a week? Ever considered becoming a Special Constable?
Hampshire Constabulary is hosting a Specials information evening on Thursday, 26 February 2009 at Hampshire’s Support and Training HQ, Netley from 3.30pm. Existing constables will be on hand to answer any questions about their role as a Special.
Special Constables are part-time volunteer officers who have exactly the same powers as regular police officers and fit their duty as a special around their day job.
Kimberley Hiscock, Specials Recruitment Officer said, “It is important that we recruit more Special Constables as they play such an important role in the constabulary. Specials come from all walks of life and they bring their individuality and expertise from their daytime jobs to the role.”
You will be trained to be confident, to deal with any situation you are likely to come across and you'll also learn a whole new range of skills which could also improve your job prospects. You will be supplied with the uniform and the equipment to do the job - exactly the same as your regular colleagues.
Today there are over 420 Special officers in Hampshire and last year they performed nearly 100,000 duty hours.
If you would like to volunteer to be a Special or would like more information, Please contact Hampshire Constabulary on 0845 045 45 45 or go to our Special Recruitment page.
