E-fit released of man sought for indecent assault in Shirley

Police have released an e-fit of a man they are trying to trace following an indecent assault on a young woman as she walked through Shirley.

The 20-year-old local woman was walking home on her own along Howard Road, at about 12.40am on Saturday, August 21, when she was approached by a man from behind and indecently assaulted.

The suspect then walked off in the direction of Stafford Road.

The victim continued walking north via Shirley Road and then further along Shirley High Street.

Shortly after 1am the same man assaults the woman again, after appearing to hide behind an advertising billboard on the pavement outside the Baltic Food Store and Pizza Hut in wait.

The victim luckily managed to fight her attacker off before walking off in the direction of Church Street. She did not see the man again.

The suspect is described as:

  • White man Approx 6ft tall Spoke with English accent
  • Aged approximately 30-35 years old
  • An oval shaped face, big nose with a slight hook shape to it, uneven teeth and a wide grin.
  • Clean shaven with clear skin
  • Short shaved dark blonde or brown hair
  • Wearing grey ‘suit style’ trousers and a black long sleeved shirt
  • Holder on belt possibly for mobile phone or wallet
