Detectives release further information following deaths of four people in Fordingbridge

Detectives investigating the deaths of four people in Fordingbridge on Monday, July 26 can now release further details.

Post mortem examinations conducted at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital yesterday (July 26) have revealed that a 33-year-old man died as a result of a ligature suspension and a 31-year-old woman died as a result of knife wounds.

The cause of death of the two girls has yet to be established. Post mortem examinations are due to take place this afternoon (Tuesday, July 27).

Acting Superintendent Gary Cooper said: “Detectives are continuing to investigate the background and the circumstances that led to this tragic incident.

“The families of everyone involved are understandably extremely shocked and distressed by what has happened and have asked that they are left alone to try and come to terms with their loss.”

We are unable to confirm the identification of the deceased at this time as there are still family members which are yet to be informed.

Contrary to information which appears to be circulating in the local area, there are NO plans to hold a press conference at this stage.
