Detectives in Alton are appealing for information after two men broke into a flat and attacked the resident with what is believed to have been an acid solution.
It happened at an address in Station Road, Petersfield at around 8.15pm on Thursday, September 29.
Two men, wearing balaclavas forced their way into a flat and and started to ransack the premises. When the resident tried to challenge the pair, she was squirted in the face with what is believed to be a weak acid solution.
Detective Sergeant Ewan Gardner of Alton CID said: "This was a terrifying ordeal for the woman, who believes she was specifically targeted. Thankfully she was not injured.
"Despite local enquiries we have been unable to identify these men, but we’re sure someone in the local community knows who they are.
“We would urge anyone with any information to get in touch; any information given will be dealt with in the strictest confidence and can be given anonymously."
He added: “I would like to reassure the public that we believe this was an isolated incident". The first man is described as:
• White
• Between 20 and 30 years old
• 6 ft 3 tall
• Medium build
• Wearing dark clothing, a hood over his head, and a green scarf over his face
The second man is described as:
• White
• 20-30 years old
• 5 ft 9 tall
• Stocky build
• Wearing black clothing and a black balaclava
