Detectives appeal for witnesses following fire at shop in Farnborough

Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a fire at Daisy’s grocery store in Farnborough.

At about 3.30am on Monday, October 17, officers attended the shop which is on the junction of Peabody Road and Queens Road, following reports of a fire.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service also attended and soon extinguished the fire, however, a significant amount of damage was done to the shop.

The exact cause of the fire is currently being investigated but it is believed a number of bins were also set on fire, which officers are linking to this incident.

Detective Constable Mark Ogburn said: “I would like to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area in the early hours.

“In particular I would like to speak to anyone who was in the area between 2am and 4am.”
