Detectives in Basingstoke are appealing for witnesses after an assault in the town overnight between Friday, December 19 and Saturday, December 20.
At around midnight there was an argument which led to a woman being assaulted near to the New Inn pub in Flaxfield Road.
The victim suffered a facial injury following the assault. Detective Constable Nigel Hancock, of Basingstoke CID, said: “This incident involved a number of people and happened quite late at night in a normally quiet, residential area.
“We would ask anyone who witnessed it or anyone with information about it to contact police as soon as possible.”
Two men have been arrested and bailed in connection with this incident.
