Detectives in Basingstoke are appealing for information after a woman was robbed in Brighton Hill on Saturday, September 13.
Sometime between 10.20pm and 11pm a 22-year-old woman was walking along a path between Lennon Way and Gershwin Road.
She was approached by a man from behind who grabbed her around the neck. He demanded her phone and purse, which the victim handed over. He then made off on foot towards Gershwin Road.
The man is described as:
- White
- 6ft tall
- Thin build
- Speaking with a local accent
- Stubble on his face
- Wearing a dark hooded zip up top, jeans and trainers
Detective Constable Dan Leese, of Basingstoke CID, said: “This was an isolated incident and one we are taking seriously.
“The robbery has left the victim very shaken up and we are keen to hear from anyone with information about it.
“Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area on Saturday night should contact police as soon as possible.”
