Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses after cigarettes were stolen during a burglary at a shop in Basingstoke.

Between 2.40am and 3.15am today, three men – all wearing dark clothing – were seen breaking into the Co-Op store in Winklebury Way, Winklebury.

The men got away with a significant amount of cigarettes.

Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who saw a dark-coloured hatchback car in the area. A silver Vauxhall Corsa was also damaged during the incident and officers would like to speak to anyone who saw that car in the area.

Detective Constable Paul Southey said: “The shop is in quite a prominent place in the area so someone may have seen or heard a disturbance.

“If you saw anything suspicious, please contact me.”

Can you help?
