Detectives from Hampshire Constabulary’s Major Crime Department have launched an investigation after an assault in Aldershot on Tuesday, June 2.
At around 11.30pm a 23-year-old man was assaulted by another man outside of an address in Birchett Road.
The victim suffered a serious head injury and is currently in a critical condition at Frimley Park Hospital.
Detectives want to hear from anyone who was in the area last night and may have witnessed the assault.
A 19-year-old man from Farnborough has been arrested in connection with this incident.
Detective Inspector David Dilly, of Hampshire Constabulary’s Major Crime Department, said: “This was a serious assault that happened close to the town centre and may have been witnessed by someone making their way home last night.
“It was an isolated incident and we would ask anyone who was in the area last night and has any information to contact police as soon as possible.”
