Burglars take thousands of pounds worth of items from a Southampton electrical store
Press Releases
Published:
12/09/2008
Burglars in Southampton have taken thousands of pounds worth of electrical items after breaking-in to Brighthouse in Shirley High Street.
They broke-in sometime between 8pm on Tuesday, September 9 and 6am on Wednesday, September 10.
It is estimated the total cost of the items taken and the damage caused during the break-in is around £40,000. The items taken included flat screen TVs, games consoles, laptops and mobile phones.
Officers are now appealing for witnesses as it must have involved a vehicle to remove the goods and probably took some time.
They are also interested to hear from anyone who may have been offered new electrical goods cheaply since the incident took place.
PC Melissa Buckley who is investigating the case said: “I am appealing to any members of the public who may have information in relation to this incident to come forward.
I would also ask the public to check the origins of any electrical items they are offered before purchasing them from private sources.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Buckley at Southampton Central Police Station on 0845 045 45 45 or call Crimestoppers, the charity, on 0800 555 888.
