Body discovered in Southampton - two releases voicebanked

Police were called to the A27 Mansbridge Road, near to Haskins garden centre in Southampton, at around 4pm yesterday (Friday, October 30) following the discovery of a body.

It was found by a member of the public in an area of woodland.

Enquiries are being carried out to establish the identity of the body and the cause of death.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police in Southampton on 101 or call Crimestoppers, the charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Update: Investigation continues after body found in Southampton

Police are now able to confirm that, following the discovery of a body in woodland near to the A27 Mansbridge Road in Southampton on Friday, October 30, the death is not being treated as suspicious.

The body is that of a woman who was in her 50s. Formal identification procedures have yet to take place and enquiries in to the circumstances surrounding the death are continuing.
