Attempted theft of vacuum cleaners from Portsmouth commercial unit

Police in Portsmouth are appealing for information after a commercial unit on Somers Road North, adjoined to The Bridge Centre was broken into sometime between 12 and 3am on Monday, December 19.  

The unit was being used by Asda to store some stock.  

A quantity of Dyson vacuum cleaners worth just over £2000 in total were removed from the unit. These were found nearby; it is believed the offenders may have been disturbed.  

Two offenders are believed to have been involved, one wearing a dark jacket and a dark hood or hat, the other wearing a dark jacket and ‘high vis’ jacket with a light coloured hat or hood. The offenders were driving a dark grey/silver or metallic green Vauxhall Astra.  

Pc Jody Hendry said: “We would appeal to anyone who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed this incident or has any information which could help us identify these offenders to contact us.”
