Appeal for witnesses following serious road traffic collision on Isle of Wight

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision which has left a 19-year-old Godshill man in a critical condition.

The collision, involving a Suzuki motorcycle and a LDV Convoy truck, occurred shortly before 1pm on Thursday (Jan 20) on the A3020 Main Road at Rookley.

The motorcycle, rode by the 19-year-old, was travelling from Godshill towards Newport when it was in collision with the truck.

The rider was taken to St Mary’s Hospital in Newport with serious injuries. He remains there in a critical but stable condition.

The driver of the truck, a 55-year-old man, and the passenger, a 29-year-old man, both from East Cowes, were treated for shock at the scene.
