Operation Tarlatan – Five-year-old girl seriously injured following collision with bus in Chandlers Ford

Police are appealing for witnesses after a five-year-old girl sustained life-threatening injuries following a serious crash in Chandlers Ford.

At about 3.20pm on Thursday, November 18, the girl was riding a child’s scooter along the pavement on Knightwood Road. Her mother was walking with her.

The child, from Chandlers Ford, appears to have fallen from the scooter onto the road into the path of a single-decked bus, which was travelling north-west along Knightwood Road.

The girl sustained serious head injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital where she remains in serious condition.

The bus driver, a 50-year-old man from Hedge End, was not injured.
