In Romsey we recognise the diverse nature of our community which includes the town centre, residential neighbourhoods, the rural communities, plus the many industries based within the area in which we live and work.

We include the whole community in our efforts to prevent and detect crime, deter anti-social behaviour and to improve the quality of life for all. Through community partnership work we have already achieved considerable success in identifying and addressing the negative behaviour of a small minority of individuals.

We recognise the fact that antisocial behaviour is a priority for us, as it can impact on all members of our community, and we continue to seek the support of everyone in our continuing efforts to tackle this concern.

Young people in the community have an important role to play in shaping its future, and as such, are motivated towards a positive lifestyle. This is reflected in the work of the Romsey Community Improvement Group, a committed group of individuals, business, organisations and young people, whose collective enthusiasm and determination is to make Romsey an even better place.

There has been and continues to be great success by individuals coming together to address issues that are important to them and which affects us all.  Examples include the successful, Pub Watch, Farm Watch and Shop Watch Schemes together with the Neighbourhood Watch Scheme.

Neighbourhood Watch is a great scheme that gets people working together to make their communities safer. If you are interested in finding out about existing schemes running in your area or would like to find out about how to set up a new scheme then please visit the Neighbourhood Watch website  or contact your Safer Neighbourhoods team.

If you live in the Knightwood and Valley Park area of Test Valley district, a local agreement is in place which means that your Safer Neighbourhoods team are still part of this district team but are based in the Eastleigh West sector. This agreement is in place so that the officers working for your neighbourhood are based closer to you and are able to give you a better, more local, service. Find out about the Safer Neighbourhoods team working in Knightwood and Valley park by clicking here.

We look forward to working with all members of our communities, where we place the emphasis on inclusion in our efforts to address our collective needs.
