Bitterne is an interesting, diverse and challenging area to police. I want everyone within our community to have the confidence that if they have the need to call upon our services they will receive a professional service from all they have contact with.

- Sgt Vanessa Ford - Harefield
- Sgt Caroline Chapman - Townhill and Bitterne Park
- Sgt Marcus Dent - Thornhill South and Bitterne
- Engagement officer - PC Dan Rainscourt North
- Bitterne Engagement officer - PC Lou Carter
- Safer Schools Officer - PC Seonaid Huges
"The quality of life issues for residents within Bitterne is an area that we already work closely with our partner agencies to tackle. Reducing crime and reducing the fear of crime, and tackling anti-social behaviour. We don’t want our community to fear crime we want the criminals within it to fear it. We will continue to bring them to justice and lower crime rates within the area.
"Our team is keen to expand the Neighbourhood Watch schemes and address the flow of information to and from our community and are always looking for volunteers to become active members of the scheme.
"At present we are working hard to tackle vehicle crime and burglaries in the area. I would urge people to ensure that they never leave anything on show within their vehicle and they always lock and set any security device. I would also urge people to ensure that they lock their doors and windows of their homes so that they do not become victims of an opportunist criminal.
"We are launching initiatives in relation to under age drinking and purchasing of alcohol and knife crime education and enforcement.
"It is important that we act on information that our community can give us about criminal activity so that we can safeguard our community. We work closely with all are partner agencies including Southampton City Council and the various housing authorities to ensure we can solve issues effectively. We are working on a variety of anti-social issues and are keen to obtain as much information regarding vehicle nuisance, so that we can tackle the moped problems in the area.
"Please if you see anything suspicious report it directly to the police or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 and the information will be assessed and acted upon appropriately.
