Getting involved with Safer Neighbourhoods

How can I get involved in making my neighbourhood safer?

Contact the people responsible for policing in your area to tell them what is important to you. You can find out who they are by visiting the local policing section of this website or by calling 0845 045 4545.

Information on this site and in the local media will tell you when there are local beat surgeries or events when your Safer Neighbourhood Team will be available for you to discuss the local issues that matter to you. This is your chance to have your voice heard and make a difference in your community.

We are seeking people to get involved in making their community safer by carrying out a number of tasks as volunteers. This could involve setting up a meeting in your area, helping distribute local information, conducting local opinion surveys or assisting the local Safer Neighbourhoods team in many other ways.

As well as being a general volunteer, you can join the many people who already volunteer as Special Constables in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Special Constables have all the powers of a police officer but carry out the role in their spare time because they want to help make their community safer. Click here to find out more and to apply.
