Local priorities in your area
Locally, we work with your community to find out what matters most where you live. We will work with you and our partner agencies to agree the main priorities for the area and how we will work together to tackle them.
The community priorities for Hilsea are:
- To reduce youth nuisance and anti-social behaviour - The team will continue to work to reduce ASB across the beat area, and will be paying special attention to Stanshaw Park and other areas where problems are more prevalent.
These are the priorities that people in your local area have agreed with the Safer Neighbourhoods team. You can influence these priorities by contacting your team, attending a meeting or speaking to members of the team when you see them out and about.
To have your say on our priorities please complete the attached form and email it to us (hilseabeats@hampshire.pnn.police.uk ):

Action taken in relation to your priorities
You said: You wanted us to reduce youth nuisance and anti-social behaviour
We did: We received reports of criminal damage at the Mountbatten Centre and anti-social behaviour at Alexandra Park. To combat this we carried out a thorough investigation into the criminal damage reports.
We used CCTV footage and witness statements to identify a large group of youths that were responsible, and these people were identified by our officers. A number of the youths were arrested and interviewed , and the few individuals responsible for the damage were dealt with through the legal system and those involved, but not responsible, were spoken to in front of their parents.
We sent out anti-social behaviour warning letters to the group, outlining the ASBO system and the ways in which their behaviour needs to be improved if this action is to be avoided.
We have worked with Portsmouth Ctiy council to ensure the areas suffering from anti-social behaviour have had improved lighting installed. As well as this, targeted work is taking place with the Mountbatten Centre and outcomes so far have been excellent. Several areas within Hilsea have been improved and secured to ensure they are not left vulnerable to crime.
Pubwatch
A dedicated Shopwatch and Pubwatch scheme will be set up in London Road in the next few months.
