Cosham Sector

Community Tasking Groups (CTGs) meet every four weeks in the four policing areas of the city.

The members of the groups consist of police and partner agencies such as the council, fire brigade and other community groups, and they meet to discuss current community issues and how to tackle them. If you would like an issue raised at the meeting please contact your local Safer Neigbourhood team or City Councillor who would be able to represent your views.  Below you will find the list of issues that have been identified and are currently being addressed by the CTG in Cosham.

All meetings are held at Cosham Fire Station.


Issues currently being addressed are:

 

Drayton and Farlington

To reduce anti-social behaviour in the neighbourhood increased patrols to target groups involved in anti-social behaviour particularly on Havant Road and Grant Road (Waterworks Park).

To reduce the anti-social use of motor vehicles including speeding – Complaints have been received from residents who are reporting people using excessive speed in the Drayton and Farlington area.

 



Cosham

Reducing anti-social behaviour (including inconsiderate cycling) -  the team will be focusing efforts on Cosham High Street where the problem is most prevalent. Operation Dismount has been continued in the High Street with very positive responses from the public.

To address underage drinking and drug related issues accross the neighbourhood area- through high visibility patrols, multi agency working, ASB patrols and working with youth clubs/charities to ensure education is given to young people. 

Tackling alcohol related ASB in Cosham High Street - Councillors have advised that residents, shoppers and traders have expressed concern about the number of incidents involving drunk people sleeping on benches and urinating in the High Street. 


 

Paulsgrove

To address underage drinking and drug related issues across the neighbourhood - through high visibility patrols, multi agency working, ASB patrols and working with youth clubs/charities to ensureeducation is given to young people. 

To address criminal damage to motor vehicles in the Port Solent area - through high visibility patrols, enforcement and education. 

To address the issue of anti-social behaviour in Allaway Avenue shopping parade and immediate surrounding area - Through the use of community engagement with residents and local businesses, high visibility patrols, multi agengy working and dispersal orders were appropriate.
