The Safer Neighbourhoods Team responsible for Hook and Rotherwick is:
PC Stacy Beale (first left), PCSO Robert Nicklin (far right) and PCSO Sarah Palmer (not pictured)
.
We are based out of the Hart Neighbourhood Centre.
Locally, we work with your community to find out what matters most where you live. We will work with you and our partner agencies to agree the main priorities for the area and how we will work together to tackle them.
Over the past few months we have continued to receive reports of possible drug usage in the area along with a return of parking problems inand around the Church View/Band Hall Place area at school drop of times. Therefore our beat priorities have been updated below.
The community priorities for Hook are:
- Target anti-social behaviour in the Rectory Road area
- Parking problems in Band Hall Place and Church View
- Criminal damage and anti-social behaviour in the pathways through Church View, Bowfield and Wild Herons
These are the priorities that people in your local area have agreed with the Safer Neighbourhoods team. You can influence these priorities by contacting your team, attending a meeting or speaking to members of the team when you see them out and about.
Actions we have taken in relation to your previous priorities

It came to our attention that the area of Rectory Road started to increase in anti-social behaviour over the summer. PCSO Nicklin and PCSO Palmer have carried out regular foot and bicycle patrols throughout the summer, giving suitable words of advice to the children when needed.
The team has patrolled the area throughout all times of the day and we have been impressed over the last weeks with the behaviour of the groups. We have not received any calls through our control room complaining of rowdy groups of youths, which is great.

We are waiting for the survey results from Hampshire Highways before any conclusions and decisions are made on the yellow line proposals.
Once we have them we will ensure they are posted on the website. Since the last update the children have not been at school, and no surprises that we have not received any complaints of inappropriate parking, however every now and then we have come across parking which does not comply with the Highway Code, yet there being plenty of space for people to park legally.
When the schools return from the summer break, the team will again be out and about clamping down on inappropriate parking, issuing tickets where necessary, so please think about where you park.
You said: Criminal damage and anti-social behaviour in the pathways through Bowfield and Wild Herons
We did:
Over the summer, we can report that we have not had any incidents of criminal damage or rowdy and inconsiderate behaviour within the areas of Bowfied and Wild Herons. Over the last seven months there have only been a handful of calls from Wild Herons and adjoining streets, such as Driftway.
There have been a large amount of calls from Smallfield Drive as a resident's property was subject to a chain of criminal damage incidents, however working together and with the residents putting up a fight, we seemed to have stopped this re-occurrence of criminal damage incidents.
St Johns Close has always been one of the areas throughout Hook where residents have suffered with anti-social behaviour, however again by working closely with residents there has been a dramatic drop in calls and problems throughout St Johns.
We will be reviewing this problem and it will more than likely have some time away from the priority list. Please be reassured that the team will continue to patrol the area as much as they have done, and please continue to call in any incidents to us.
Justice Seen Justice Done
A local man has been charged with drug offences and theft offences from a local shop. The beat team is working with the offender to ensure that he is given the opportunity to change his ways and stop offending.
Other issues
Pubwatch
Pubwatch is now up and running. This scheme sees all the licensed establishments in Odiham, Hook and surrounding villages working together to promote safer drinking practices throughout the area. The scheme introduces the banned from one, banned from all initiative.
Already, five men and one woman have been excluded from drinking in any of the pubs in the scheme for set periods of time. Pubwatch is run by the landlords and it is their decision as to who gets banned and the length of the ban imposed.
It is hoped that this will deter anti-social and unacceptable behaviour, keep the staff safe in their work environment and stop those who cannot conduct themselves in an appropriate way from spoiling the atmosphere for regular customers.
High visibility patrols have continued, hopefully most of you will have seen a member of the beat team walking or cycling in your area. If you haven’t and would like us to be more present in your neighbourhood please let us know.
Neighbourhood Watch
If you are not a member of the local Neighbourhood Watch scheme, and would like to find out more about Neighbourhood Watch please contact us, details of how to do this are at the bottom of this web page.
Contacting us
Please remember that there are various ways that you can contact the police. Consider how urgent your call is. If there is a crime in progress it is better that we arrive at the time, whilst the relevant people are still about.
If you return home to find damage then contacting 101 will enable the police to respond at a convenient time for all.
Emails and messages to the Hook beat office will not get such a quick response since they depend on one of the officers being in the office - we try to be out and about most of the time.
We do not have a police station at Hook, however if you would like to speak to a member of the team we are happy to meet you at the Hart Neighbourhood Centre by prior arrangement.
