The Safer Neighbourhoods Team for Crondall and Greywell is: PC Derek Morrow

PC Morrow is the police officer for the Crondall and Greywell beat and he is based out of the Hart Neighbourhood Centre in Hook.
The beat covers Greywell, South Warnborough, Long Sutton, Well Crondall, Crookham Village and Ewshot.
The population is spread over a number of villages as well as smaller hamlets and housing associated with farms.
Locally, we work with your community to find out what matters most where you live. We will work with you and our partner agencies to agree the main priorities for the area and how we will work together to tackle them.
The priorities that have been identified following the community consultation are:
- Reduce anti-social behaviour in Crondall
- Reduce rural burglaries and crime in the area
These are the priorities that people in your local area have agreed with the Safer Neighbourhoods team. You can influence these priorities by contacting your team, attending a meeting or speaking to members of the team when you see them out and about.
Actions we have taken in relation to your priorities
You said: Reduce anti-social behaviour in Crondall
We did:
Regular foot and vehicle patrols are being carried out in the area. In the past I have successfully conducted house to house and neighbour enquiries to assist with intelligence gathering. I have liaised with local council members in order to try to provide an area for teenagers in the community - possibly a temporary skate park.
From the beginning of May there has been a noticeable decline in reported incidents following the criminal damage and arson incidents some months ago. I have liaised with members of the public via foot patrols, event organising and beat surgeries. Local teenagers have been behaving themselves and have been very helpful during local events.
Please report any incidents via the 101 or 0845 045 45 45 number. If anyone has any information regarding anti-social behaviour please feel free to contact me.

There have been increased patrols in the South Warnborough area following several incidents. An operation is being planned for June to target patrols of vulnerable locations and access routes.
Regular patrols of the rural area, incorporating surrounding beats, will continue. Recent incidents have shown a particular interest in garden tools and machinery rather than scrap metal. Local residents are reminded to report suspicious individuals and vehicles by calling the non-emergency number 101 or 0845 045 45 45
Please read my advice to you on rural crime:
- Keep valuable items out of view – if you have electrical equipment worth hundreds of pounds, don’t keep it by the window where passers-by can see it.
- Never leave a key under a doormat or on a string through the letterbox – it’s the first place any burglar will look.
- Make sure tools and ladders are kept in a secure place – burglars will happily use your own garden equipment to break into your home.
- If you’ve taken extra security precautions, let would-be burglars know. If you have an alarm, make sure the box can be clearly seen.
- If you take part in a Neighbourhood Watch scheme, display a sticker in your window, and if you have a dog, put up a warning sign.
- Hide financial documents and keys – if someone does break in you don’t want them to also steal from your bank account or take your car.
- Make sure you secure all your doors and windows every time you leave the house, even if you are ‘just popping out’.
- If you are in the garden or upstairs, make sure your downstairs doors are locked – in the summer burglars can often just open the front door and help themselves.

Neighbourhood Watch
I am keen to set up Neigbourhood Watch throughout my beat and have already set up a watch in Crondall and Long Sutton.
A Neighbourhood Watch typically is put in place in areas of a town or village where the majority of residents feel that it would benefit the area.
The scheme promotes information sharing between residents and the police for any ongoing or upcoming issues.
As the only beat officer for the area I am keen to hear from residents as they are in the community everyday.
If you are interested in setting up a Neighbourhood Watch scheme in your area please feel free to contact me via the details at the bottom of this page.
I would like to point out that members of the Neighbourhood Watch in Ewshot were particularly helpful regarding the dwelling burglary earlier this month. Information was exchanged very quickly to make the local residents aware and help pass information through to the police.
This shows that Neighbourhood Watch can work very well in the prevention and detection of crime, and also helps bring communities together through supporting each other. Well done.
Street Watch
Street Watch is a community based initiative which encourages local residents to get involved in strengthening their community and reducing the fear of crime.
The scheme is supported by Hampshire Constabulary and has already proved successful in the Four Marks area. It has offered local residents the opportunity to spend a few hours a month walking around their area, providing a visible presence, offering support and reassurance.
