The Safer Neighbourhoods Team for Blackwater and Hawley is (from left to right):
PC Jon Garland, PCSO Fiona Murdoch and PC Paul Whitehouse

New beat officer PC Jon Garland will be working on the beat. He has gained years of experience and has worked in many different areas of the police.
He said: “I am looking forward to working with the community in my new role as a beat officer and hope that people will find me to be very approachable.
"I am open to anyone stopping me when they see me out and about and letting me know what’s going on, and what issues they think are becoming a community concern.”
We are based out of Yateley Police Station.
Locally, we work with your community to find out what matters most where you live. We will work with you and our partner agencies to agree the main priorities for the area and how we will work together to tackle them.
The community priorities for Blackwater and Hawley are:
- Tackle anti-social behaviour around the Beaulieu Gardens area
- Tackle anti-social behaviour in and around the Frogmore Community College area
These are the priorities that people in your local area have agreed with the Safer Neighbourhoods team. You can influence these priorities by contacting us, attending a meeting or speaking to members of the team when you see them out and about.
Action we have taken in relation to your priorities

We did:
Last month we had one report of anti-social behaviour involving youths gathering in Beaulieu Gardens. Next month crime reduction and education week will take place, focusing on ways in which we can improve the area in and around Beaulieu Gardens. Working with Hart District Council, we will be arranging graffiti removal and a litter pick with the help of the local church. The youth drop-in sessions at the Darby Green Centre on Thursday evenings are still proving to be very popular and gives local youths somewhere to go and see friends.

We did:
The area has been continually patrolled by officers during the day turn and evenings. Patrols this month have included some plain clothed visits also. There have been no concerns. We plan to speak with schools as a priority but at this time no issues have been reported. As evenings get lighter this area will continue to be patrolled and reported problems will possibly increase. Therefore, this is to remain as a priority.

How you can take action
No Cold Calling update
The Safer Neighbourhoods Team is pleased to confirm that the 'No Cold Calling' zones in Blackwater are going from strength to strength. 'No Cold Calling' signs have been placed in Park Hill Road, Beech Drive, Park Hill Close and Cheriton Way.
The Safer Neighbourhoods team would like to continue to expand 'No Cold Calling' and will be actively looking over the next month to address other areas in Blackwater. If you would like your road to be covered by 'No Cold Calling' then please do not hesitate to contact the team.
Neighbourhood Watch
Neighbourhood Watch is still running in the area and we now have a new area coordinator. If your street is not covered by Neighbourhood Watch and you are interested in the scheme please contact us and we will pass on your information and arrange and visit to explain the positives of being in the scheme.

Despite our best efforts there are, and will always be, people who insist on breaking the law. Your help is invaluable in the ongoing fight against criminals, and your local officers are always keen to hear any information you may have regarding the commission of criminal offences.
You can discuss issues with us over the telephone or ask that we meet you, either at your home address or somewhere neutral.
