Inspector John Halfacre is the Safer Neighbourhoods Inspector for Hart.
"It is a privilege to return to Hart as the Safer Neighbourhoods Inspector. This is an area of Hampshire I know well as I began my police career at Fleet in 1993 and also served as a sergeant at Hartley Wintney and Yateley between 2002 and 2004.
"I will be leading the Hart Safer Neighbourhood Teams, which are based out of Hook, Fleet and Yateley.
"The Safer Neighbourhoods Teams own and manage the crime and anti-social behaviour in their neighbourhoods. They liaise with local residents to identify the issues that are causing the greatest concern and work closely with other agencies, such as the council Community Safety team, to create a safer Hart.
"We keep residents updated with the work we are doing through newsletters, leaflets, email, the local press, the local beat webpages, public meetings, established community groups and in any other way we think best suits the needs of the community.
"Through the management of our intelligence systems we identify active criminals and target them, as we know that the majority of crime is committed by a small minority of individuals.
"The only people who should be afraid of crime in Hart are those who choose to commit it. In short, my teams will provide an active presence in the community, tailored to the needs of those who live and work there."
Fleet sector also comprises one Safer Neighbourhoods team, led by Sgt Dave Hill
