Locally, we work with your community to find out what matters most where you live. We will work with you and our partner agencies to agree the main priorities for the area and how we will work together to tackle them.

The current neighbourhood priorities for Brookvale are:

  • Issues in Culver Road and Kings Furlong shopping parade

  • Anti-social behaviour in the Worting Road area

  • Anti-social behaviour caused by the students of BCOT and CBEC

These are the priorities that people in your local area have agreed with the Safer Neighbourhoods Team. You can influence these priorities by contacting your team, attending a meeting or speaking to members of the team when you see them out and about.

Action we have taken in relation to your previous priorities

You said: Issues in Culver Road and Kings Furlong shopping parade

We did:

We have seen a reduction in anti-social behaviour related problems as recent evening patrols have found no problems or issues. However, there are still occasional reports of a number of youngsters hanging around the area of the Kings Furlong shopping parade causing distress to local residents and businesses. The beat officers are continually working with the locals and should anyone be found to be causing anti-social behaviour, they will be asked to leave the area.

If you are a victim of anti-social behaviour please do not hesitate to contact us via 101 or 0845 045 45 45 or on the email address below.

You said: Anti-social behaviour in the Worting Road area

We did:

Certain premises along Worting Road have been bought to the attention of the police for causing a nuisance and anti-social behaviour. We have been working closely with our partner agencies to deal with these premises, and have successfully evicted one person who was causing problems in the area and issued a warning to another. We continue to work with the community to gather inteligence.

You said: Anti-social behaviour caused by the students of BCOT and CBEC

We did:

We have teamed up with the schools and colleges across the beat by patrolling with them at lunchtimes and during after school hours, ensuring that the children are safe and behaving responsibly. In the past we have been invited into the schools to hold talks with the children covering various topics relating to their class subjects.

Offenders brought to justice

Police are working alongside partner agencies in order to tackle the issues that have been raised in the area of Kings Furlong. ABCs (Acceptable Behaviour Contracts) are being considered for those that are believed to have been causing some of the problems.

An ABC is a voluntary contract between various agencies and the subject, detailing how they should behave in order to stop their involvement in anti-social behaviour.

How you can take action

Do you have a bike?

How well could you describe your bike?

It only takes a few seconds to steal one, so keep a record of your cycle details, and keep it secure to deter thieves.

  • Mark your bike with your postcode and house number Keep a note of the bicycle frame number. This will add identification should the cycle be recovered by the police.
  • Take a photo of your bike on your mobile or with a camera and store it in a safe place. This will help us return your bike if and when it is recovered.

Please complete the attached Bike Safe form, email it to us and store the details safely.
