Paul Robertson is the Inspector for Basingstoke Rural, based at Whitchurch.
Inspector Paul Robertson has 21 years policing experience with Hampshire Constabulary.
He has a strong operational background and has worked in Portsmouth, the New Forest, Winchester, Aldershot and Basingstoke in a variety of frontline and specialist roles and is currently the Basingstoke Rural Inspector.
"I am committed to achieving the aims set out in the Policing Pledge and will continue to work towards the aim of providing the best possible service to the public.
"The rural communities of Basingstoke are some of the safest places to live in the UK. Despite the crime rate already being very low, over the last two years crime has continued to fall (10 per cent less victims than the year before) and crimes solved continue to rise (3 per cent more crimes solved than the year before).
"This is very much down to the dedication of the policing team and partners and also the invaluable assistance of the public."
My aims and objectives are:
- To continue to reduce crime across the Basingstoke Rural area by working with partners and the public to identify problems that need to be addressed.
- To continue to provide an excellent service to the public and to address the needs of the public.
- To catch more criminals and solve the crime they commit.
- To have an active police presence in every neighbourhood, who the public know and trust and know how to contact and to ensure Police Officers and PCSOs keep the public updated with what is happening in their community.
- To actively deal with anti-social behaviour and ensure that all residents feel safe in their neighbourhoods whatever the time, day or night.
- Continue to work towards making the rural areas of Basingstoke a safer place to live and work.
I am constantly looking at ways of improving our service to the public and would be grateful to hear from anyone who has identified an area where we could improve. Local policing priorities are now reviewed monthly, I am keen that the public have a say in what their priorities are.
Some of you over the coming months will see a form called ‘Your Voice Counts’, this allows you to have your say on what matters to you in your community.
Basingstoke Rural sector also comprises one Safer Neighbourhoods Team led by Sgt Martin Cullis and Sgt Chris Swallow
