Community meetings in Newport South area
The Newport South Safer Neighbourhoods Team and partner agencies hold regular community consultation in the area:
Beat surgery in St. Thomas's Square
Your local Newport Safer Neighbourhoods team has started a new beat surgery. We’re parking our mobile police office in St. Thomas’s Square in the heart of the town centre one weekend every month. There will be a Police Constable and a Police Community Support Officer with local knowledge on hand to speak with members of the public about the issues that matter most to you. Your information and views will influence the policing priorities for Newport town centre and its surrounding areas.
The latest dates and times are:
Saturday, January 14 : 11am to 1pm
Saturday, February 18: 11am to 1pm
This new arrangement replaces all of our previous beat surgeries in the Newport area. By reinforcing our visible presence in the town centre, we hope it will be more convenient for residents and visitors to discuss any concerns or information they have about crime and anti-social behaviour. For more information about your local Safer Neighbourhoods team, go online to www.hampshire.police.uk and type in your postcode. Phone us on 101 or 0845 045 45 45.
