Inspector Terry Clawson said: "I am pleased to be responsible for the Neighbourhood policing of the West Wight area which includes Newport, Cowes, East Cowes, Yarmouth, Freshwater and the Arreton Valley.
"My team works closely within the Isle of Wight Community Safety Partnership to identify the issues that really matter to the local community and to solve their problems. In the past year we have been successful in reducing crime across the Island and tackling anti social behaviour in our towns.
"The Island is one of the safest places in the country to live, work and grow up. But we continue to work hard to reduce crime rates even more so that people can really feel the difference.
"We aim to provide the highest standards and I welcome feedback about the quality of service you receive from your local police. Recent feedback from members of the public in Cowes, West Wight and Newport indicate that you have high regard and confidence in your local officers. Thank you for your support.
