Community Meetings in the Ryde area

The Ryde Town, Ryde, and Rural East Safer Neighbourhoods teams and partners hold regular community engagement meetings. These include:

Town and Parish Council meetings

An officer from Ryde Town SNT attends Ryde Town Council meetings on the first Monday of every month to give an update on the Safer Neighbourhoods Team's actions and plans, and take questions from councillors and members of the public. Meetings are held in the Council Chamber, Ryde Town Hall, Lind Street, Ryde.

Beat surgeries

A Ryde Neighbourhood Surgery is held on the first Wednesday of every month from 5.00pm to 6.00pm at Ryde Youth Club, High Street, Ryde. This is an opportunity to speak with your local Safer Neighbourhoods team.

A beat surgery is held on the fourth Monday of every month (excluding school holidays) at The Bungalow, Ryde High School, Pell Lane, Ryde between 3.00pm and 5.00pm. This is an opportunity to speak with your local Safer Neighbourhoods team.

A beat surgery takes place at the community flats in Preston Close, Ryde on the first Monday of every month between 1.00pm and 2.30pm.

PCSO Katy Berry holds beat surgeries on the first Tuesday of every month at Newchurch Parish Hall between 9.00am and 10.00am, at Wootton Bridge Help Centre between 10.15am and 12.00pm, and at Binstead Community Centre between 12.30pm and 1.30pm.

Equine beat surgery

PCSO Karen Allen holds an equine beat surgery at Scats countrystore, Blackwater Road near Newport, Isle of Wight on the first Monday of every month between 10.00am and 11.00am. Horse riders and all involved in the equine community are invited to discuss any issues.

Please note the beat surgeries at Oakvale in Oakfield no longer take place.

Ryde South West Action Group (SWAG)

This is a residents action group, commited to resolving community issues. This meeting is held fornightly on a Friday between 9.30am and 11.00am at The Adelaide, Adelaide Place, Ryde.
