Central OCU

Policing in Central OCU is led by Chief Superintendent Karen Manners.

Local policing areas:

Chief Superintendent Karen Manners is the commander in charge of policing for Central OCU. Her deputy is Superintendent Phil Winchester.

Chief Superintendent Manners said: "I became the OCU commander for Central OCU on Monday, February 16, 2009.

"On my first day I was by joined by another new member to the OCU, Superintendent Phil Winchester.

"Together, Superintendent Winchester and I have worked in a broad spectrum of roles within the constabulary, from strategic projects, specialist CID units and district policing roles.

"We have each worked in a number of geographical locations and in various ranks.

"I have spent eight years of my career working in CID posts.

"The valuable experience we have gained in these roles has given us a broad understanding of all the different areas of policing.

"As a team, we aim to utilise this experience and knowledge to the benefit of the OCU.

"I will continue working with my colleagues, partners and the community, to make Central OCU an even safer place to live and work."

Central OCU is made up of 600 police officers and 160 police staff serving a population of more than 428,000. The OCU covers an area of more than 366 square miles.
