The District commander is Chief Inspector Will Schofield, who has served for 21 years as a uniformed officer. He joined the distirct in April 2007. Previously he worked at Southampton, Whitehill, Gosport, Alresford and Police Headquarters.
The District is divided in to three sectors each headed by an Inspector.
- Waterlooville – Inspector Terry
- Leigh Park – Inspector Ogilvy
- Havant – Inspector Mitchell

The district provides a 24 hour response capability from both Havant and Waterlooville police stations.
On 1st April 2008 a total of 11 neighbourhood policing teams were created, three in Leigh Park and four in each of the other two sectors.
The teams are made up of a sergeant, constables and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs). Their main role is to engage with their communities, provide longer term problem solving with partners, to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour and improve the quality of life within their neighbourhoods.
The local priorities are to:
- Deliver a quality service – acting with courtesy, professionalism and respect
- Ensure the best use is made of resources including appropriate accountability for staff
- To continue to embed Safer Neighbourhoods
- Catch and deal effectively with criminals
- Reduce crime and anti-social behaviour with an emphasis on assaults with injury, domestic abuse, criminal damage and rowdy/inconsiderate behaviour.
Cross-cutting all of these is to tackle the harm caused by drugs/alcohol and to liaise closely with partner agencies when working with young people.
