Transferees

We welcome applications for Police Constables and Detective Constables in the North of Hampshire. Vacancies are currently in the following areas:- 

    Hart & Rushmoor (Aldershot, Farnborough) 
    Basingstoke 
    Alton & Fleet (Public Protection)

All applicants must be currently serving in a Home Office force. All Detective Constable applicants must enclose a copy of PIP 2 portfolios with their application.

Entry criteria:
To be eligible to transfer to Hampshire Constabulary, you must:

  • Be a substantive police constable and not subject to a probationary period.
  • Be a current serving police officer in a Home Office or other suitable force.
  • Pass the necessary vetting and occupational health checks.
  • Have no outstanding discipline or integrity issues.
  • Be able to show commitment to achieving high levels of attendance - attendance will be viewed against absence records for three years.
  • Be able to show commitment to achieving high levels of performance - performance will be viewed against Performance Development Reviews/Personal Development Portfolios, covering the last two years.
  • Not have made an application to join any other force at the same time.
  • Have resided in the UK for three years immediately prior to submitting your application.
  • Not be a member of the British National Party (BNP) or similar organisation.
  • Declare any business interest.

If you are interested in applying please download the application form along with the attachments, below and return with the following:-

  • Performance Development Reviews (PDRs) / staff appraisals covering the last two years.
  • Evidence of any sickness absence during the last three years.
  • Complaints and misconduct information.

The process:
Applications and PDRs are screened to confirm suitability. You will then be invited to attend a formal competency based interview and a fitness test. If successful, an offer of appointment will be made subject to medical and vetting clearance.


Postings:
Postings are discussed at interview and decisions are made in accordance with Force requirements to the area of greatest organisational need. We will however take into consideration where you live and your posting preference in line with the availability of current vacancies.
