Transferees

We welcome applications from Special Constables of other forces who wish to transfer to the Hampshire Special Constabulary and we have a specific recruitment process for Special Constables who wish to do this.

The recruitment process begins when you request a Transferee Application Pack using the form below (please state in the comments/messages box that you wish to transfer).  Once you have received the application pack you will need to complete Part A and forward the form onto your line manager in your existing force to complete Part B.

On receipt of the form the Hampshire Special Constabulary Team will contact you to arrange an interview.  The purpose of this interview is to determine your suitability to join Hampshire Special Constabulary.  The interview questions will be based around the competencies of a Special Constable and it is suggested that you prepare for the interview by thinking about occasions where you have demonstrated your ability in each of the competency areas.

On success at interview, you will be required to complete a medical questionnaire (signed by your doctor) and take an eyesight form to an optician to complete; a meeting will also be arranged between yourself and your new District Officer to discuss any training needs that you may have.  At the meeting a decision will be made regarding your training needs based on the training that you have already completed and the training that all officers are required to complete in Hampshire: you may not need to attend all of the training that new Special Constables are required to complete.

Once medical clearance has been granted by our Occupational Health Department you will be assigned a collar number, induction, training and attestation dates and you will be able to arrange an appointment for a uniform fitting.
