Police Officers
Hampshire Constabulary are not currently recruiting for Police Constables. This page will be updated regularly to ensure all information is up to date and you are given sufficient notice of any future campaigns.
There are no external recruitment campaigns planned for 2012 as we have a waiting list of successful applicants. Future recruitment will be largely, though not exclusively, from our existing workforce, primarily special constables. To find out more about becoming a special, follow this link:

The Civil and Nuclear Constabulary are currently recruiting police officers and have asked us to provide a link to their website as follows:-

Police officers and staff are required at all times to act with the highest standards of honesty, integrity, respect and courtesy. To ensure that we recruit new officers and staff who are able to meet those standards, we will not only monitor applicants' performance as they progress through the recruitment process but also their language and behaviour when interacting with members of Hampshire Constabulary staff whether in person, in writing or by telephone. Please familiarise yourself with these standards by reading Police Officer Standards of Behaviour.
Should it be considered that a candidate's actions fall short of the highest standards of honesty, integrity, respect or courtesy it is likely that their application will be withdrawn from the recruitment process.
Please note that all Hampshire Constabulary officers must hold a full manual driving licence before joining and must be prepared to serve anywhere within Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
All Hampshire Constabulary officers must wear personal protective equipment when on duty in the form of body armour.
Hampshire Constabulary also has a comprehensive range of sports and social clubs, which are open to all employees, either police officers or police staff.
The Assistant Wellbeing Advisor is available to provide information and advice to working parents and carers on family care support and work-life balance initiatives and policies.
The 2010 Equality Act applies to police forces as well as other organisations. Hampshire Constabulary welcomes applicants from prospective officers with a disability. We are committed to ensuring that all applicants with a disability who meet the minimum criteria for a vacancy will be offered access to the selection process.
