Police Officers

Hampshire Constabulary are recruiting for Police Officers throughout 2010.

If you wish to apply to become a Police Officer with Hampshire Constabulary you can only obtain an application pack by attending a recruitment event.

We have now filled our recruitment events for 23rd February, 4th, 11th and 17th March. We will shortly be notifying everybody whether or not they have been allocated a place on this occasion. Unfortunately we will not be able to respond to general enquiries about when our next recruitment events are to be held as we have no fixed dates at this time. We will again be posting details of the next recruitment events on this website and candidates will only now be able to book places on those events when they are advertised.

Please note that there will be other events throughout the year and therefore if you aren't allocated a space on this event there will be other opportunities.

Police officers and staff are required at all times to act with the highest standards of honesty, integrity, respect and courtesy. To ensure that we recruit new officers and staff who are able to meet those standards, we will not only monitor applicants' performance as they progress through the recruitment process but also their language and behaviour when interacting with members of Hampshire Constabulary staff whether in person, in writing or by telephone. Please familiarise yourself with these standards by reading Police (Conduct) Regulations 2008 - Professional Standards of Behaviour.

Should it be considered that a candidate's actions fall short of the highest standards of honesty, integrity, respect or courtesy it is likely that their application will be withdrawn from the recruitment process.

Please note that all Hampshire Constabulary officers must hold a full manual driving licence before joining and must be prepared to serve anywhere within Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

All Hampshire Constabulary officers must wear personal protective equipment when on duty in the form of body armour.

Hampshire Constabulary also has a comprehensive range of sports and social clubs, which are open to all employees, either police officers or police staff. See the attached document for more information about the benefits of joining one of these clubs (.pdf, 12KB).

The Family Care Co-ordinator is available to provide information and advice to working parents and carers on childcare support and the Force's work life balance oriented initiatives and policies.

The Disability Discrimination Act applies to police forces as well as other organisations. Hampshire Constabulary welcomes applicants from prospective officers with a disability. We are committed to ensuring that all applicants with a disability who meet the minimum criteria for a vacancy will be offered access to the selection process.
